However, the outstanding achievement of 2025 for the Hollybrooke Stud is the success of our wonderful stallion Hollybrooke Tinker, as a sire, across a whole range of equestrian disciplines. So much so that it is difficult to know where to start.
His part bred son Trenley Tomorrow has been eventing with success all season, consistently jumping double clear rounds. The list of his successes are many but including, qualifying for the British Riding Clubs Championships and the Riding Club Arena Eventing National Championships. He was second in his section at the Pony Club National Eventing Championships. He is now competing at BE 100 always jumping a double clears just picking up a few time penalties cross country. He ended the season with a fourth at Bovington BE100 and a ninth at Tweseldown.
In the show ring the success of his children have been spectacular.
His daughter Brock Bronwen was New Forest champion at the Bath and West, the Three Counties and the New Forest Shows. All three shows are included in the Breed Society Elite Scheme. She was also overall M&M in hand champion and silver medal winner at Bath and West. The competition at those shows is always intense and to win three championships in one year an unparalleled achievement.
His two year old son Hollybrooke Distinction started the year by winning the best colt award at the Breed Society stallion inspection. He followed this with four wins and two seconds in New Forest young stock classes and finished the season by being best two year old colt and reserve champion colt at the Breed Show and Young stock champion and overall New Forest champion at the Romsey Show. Every single judge commented on his amazing temperament. He was a delight to show throughout especially considering that the stallion inspection was the first time he had ever traveled or left the farm in his life and that for most of the summer I was on my own as John was out of action. Another son the yearling Millyford Masterpiece, was one of just eight colts to be selected for the Breed Society Futurity scheme.
Another pony that has had an amazing season is the three year old gelding Hollybrooke Tinker's Gold now owned by Julia Anderson, who had turned him out to perfection and brilliantly shown by Malcolm Fry. At the New Forest Show he won the two and three year old gelding class and the young gelding championship. At the Breed Show he went one better winning the same class and championship but also the overall gelding in hand championship and reserve young stock championship
The progeny group competition at the Breed Show, which is for a group of three ponies by the same sire or out of the same mare, was also a huge success for Tinker. The group we entered for Tinker of, Distinction, Tinker's Gold and Masterpiece were fourth. Their scoring performances were a first, two seconds, two reserve championships and two championships.
